Schibsted — GDPR consent at scale

Schibsted is one of Scandinavia's largest media groups, with more daily active users in Scandinavia than Google. With updated GDPR regulations, Schibsted needed a solution for managing cookie consent and giving users insight into what data had been collected about them — across approximately 85 web and app solutions in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
My task was to set the design direction for cookie consent and user data management across the entire Schibsted ecosystem — ensuring legal compliance while maintaining a user experience that felt transparent and trustworthy rather than obstructive.
The challenge was scale and consistency: one design solution had to work across 85 different products, multiple languages and both web and app platforms. I led a data-driven design process, ran concept testing, and worked cross-border across Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Results
