EU Commission — Large-scale UX research across 6 languages and 6,000 users

UX Researcher and Product Designer, responsible for research design, user testing methodology, and synthesising insights across 6 languages and markets. Detailed findings subject to NDA.

The European Commission engaged me as a UX Researcher and Product Designer to evaluate alternative legal solutions within Apple iOS — specifically investigating how to protect users from dark patterns and avoid platform lock-in at scale.

The project involved extensive UX research across 6 countries and languages, with approximately 6,000 users participating in structured testing. The research was designed to validate whether proposed regulatory and design solutions could effectively protect user choice and autonomy within mobile ecosystems.

A key innovation in the research methodology was the use of AI to generate dynamic questions and dialogue within the research instruments. Rather than static questionnaires, the AI adapted the flow and depth of questions based on participant responses in real time — improving research quality and reducing participant fatigue across a multilingual, multi-country study.
