Eika Group — Unified SaaS banking platform
Head of Product Design, full responsibility for Eika's digital customer journey platform across all product companies. Product owner for ENGINE and bootstrap. Consultant manager and day-to-day leadership of design consultants across service design, interaction design and UI.
Eika Group — Norway's second largest banking group, consisting of 80 local banks and five large product companies with 1 million active customers — needed a common digital customer journey built on a shared platform across the entire group. The driver: prepare for the digital customer of the future and the competitive pressure coming from the PSD2 directive opening the market to new fintech players.
The challenge was a classic enterprise SaaS problem: 20+ separate legacy platforms, siloed thinking across business units, and no unified customer experience. The solution needed to be flexible, scalable, and work across all product companies simultaneously.
The architecture was built on systems design thinking — breaking down silos and creating a shared platform that enabled a seamless customer experience across all of Eika's products in real time. The platform was mobile-first, built as a hybrid app giving customers real-time transaction data across all products in one unified experience.
A key component was an AI and robotics layer — automated financial management tools that helped both private customers manage their personal finances and businesses handle their corporate finances more efficiently, without manual intervention.
I also built ENGINE — the digital business and service design framework at group level — and bootstrap, the shared UI/UX/frontend design system used across all 80 banks and product companies.
