DNB — AI and robotics savings app

UX Lead, full responsibility for UX, UI and interaction design across iOS and Android. Responsible for ensuring the team worked from design thinking principles, UX quality assurance across all deliveries, and identifying and developing concepts for the product roadmap.

DNB identified that financial literacy around saving was low among Norwegians, and that saving was more relevant than ever given the Norwegian economy. The mission: build a product that would help everyday Norwegians start saving, understand the value of regular saving, and manage their assets — from micro-saving to advanced funds, equities and shares.

The app was fundamentally AI and robotics-driven. Automated saving robots monitored user behaviour and triggered micro-savings actions automatically — moving small amounts based on spending patterns without requiring manual input from the user. AI-powered recommendations helped users understand which saving products suited their situation, and gamification mechanics educated and motivated users who had never saved before to start building the habit.

The product covered the full saving spectrum in one unified experience: saving with friends, pension saving, mutual funds, equities, and automated micro-saving — all accessible from a single iOS and Android app.

The team was distributed across DNB Oslo, DNB Bergen and a development team in India. I was responsible for UX quality assurance across all deliveries and for identifying and developing concepts for the product roadmap.
